About Hannibal Regional Hospital

A Clear Mission, A Reputation Of Excellence

What began in 1901 as a vision to bring medical services to residents in the Hannibal area is now more than a reality. A gift of land funds from Mr. and Mrs. A.R. Levering and the determination of a group of sisters from the Sisters of St. Frances became the foundation for Hannibal's two hospitals which served the community until 1993.  By that time the community need had outgrown the capability of Levering and St. Elizabeth Hospitals and Hannibal Regional Hospital was created by joining the organizations - and the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The mission of Hannibal Regional Hospital is "Healthier Residents of our Region" and that mission is achieved by a combination of Board members representing the community, medical professionals, Auxiliary members, five outreach clinics and over 850 team members.  Awarded the prestigious Missouri Quality Health Care Leader award in 2003, the Hospital also boasts the #1 Home Healthcare Service in the nation for 2006 and 2007.

The Hospital is currently undergoing an expansion that will triple the size of Emergency Services, create the Hannibal Regional Hospital Cardiovascular Institute, and build a Medical Office Building that will house the physicians of the Hannibal Regional Medical Group.  This growth and excellence enhances our ability to achieve our mission, and to proudly proclaim:  Hannibal Regional Hospital..."Advanced Medicine, Compassionate Care".
